Collection includes one letter to "Monsieur le President," requesting that he be considered a candidate for nomination to the Academy and providing a list of paintings exhibited at the Salons of 1834-1836 (1836); one letter to a Monsieur James, mentioning work at Versailles and an upcoming exhibition in Lyons (1838); one letter to Théodore Gechter commenting on one of Gechter's bronzes; two letters to Jean Pierre Marie Jazet, one dated 1841 concerning a print of the Emperor by Jazet; and one dated 1848 discussing reproductive engravings of his work and characterising the political situation in Rouen. Other letters addressed to unidentified correspondents concern personal matters, shipment of paintings, business of the Musée de Rouen, and the work of his son Eugène Bellangé.
